Welcome to the Westray Studios web site. Oil paintings and acrylics can be seen (and bought) at the Lynnfield Hotel in Kirkwall. Illustrations, watercolours and photographs are here at the studios, though due to other commitments the gallery is now closed.

SPECIAL EXHIBITION IN MAY

Throughout May (from Tuesday the 6th), the Retrospective section will host a special exhibition of the work by Westray's Monday Evening Art Class. The class meets every Monday evening from September to April in the Community Classroom from 7:30 to 9:30.

The age range is 15 to 70+.

From September to December the class worked using watercolours but from January to April the medium changed to acrylic – meaning lots more skills had to be learned. The results speak for themselves and we think you will be impressed. The art class will be meeting every Wednesday afternoon in June to go out sketching and generally "keep our hand in" and all are welcome to join in, especially if you are here on holiday. There's no charge. Just phone first please to find out where we're meeting. If wet, in the studio here, or the pub or Haff Yok Café!

COMMISSIONS

I generally work to commission, usually landscapes, rarely portraits, and never from a photograph supplied by the client.

Prices start from £250 and may reach £3000 depending on subject, medium and size, plus expenses.
